the information given, especially spelling, should be accurate
to save hours of wasted searching time.
If you have an address where you know
a certain individual or family lived and are completing a
Census Enquiry form please bear in mind that censuses were
carried out every ten years starting in 1841. We can only
search 1841,1851,1861,1871,1881,1891 and 1901. Information
from later censuses is not available until it is 100 years
old. For instance the 1911 census will not be made available
until 2012. If the year you have is in between census years
then we will search the census years either side of it. For
example if you know where someone lived in 1883 we would search
1881 and 1891 census records.
The fee for searching for a birth, marriage or death including a copy of the certificate is £19.00. For census enquiries the £19.00 fee includes searching the records and providing a copy of the census return for the address given. If you send us an enquiry we will look for the information and will let you know via email if we are successful. We will then ask you to send us a cheque for £19.00 and the information will be sent to you in return. Extra copies of certificates can be provided for £7.00 each.
Once you have the first certificate
we can carry out further searches for you if you agree. Fees
for this can be discussed beforehand.
